Advanced settings
Every tool in the program has additional settings independent of those
necessary for its operation. After you start a tool, it is possible to
create a backup table with the data from the original table and to save
each step of the tool execution into a text file.
You can define the maximum number of errors after which the program
will stop the execution and indicate whether to save the description of
all errors into a text file.
The program can save all the settings in a file that you can later open
and use as a package. Thus saved packages can be subsequently executed
using BaseNow Agent.
Backup
The backup option allows you to store all the data from a table into
a backup table before the program starts execution. Thus, you can save
the data in case they are improperly processed due to incorrectly entered
data. If the data are deleted or incorrectly modified, they can easily
be sent back to the original table using certain possibilities of the
program. For more information, see Move
and copy records to another table.
Create backup copy of the table
Sets the value indicating whether to create
backup copy of the table before performing any action.
Backup table name
Allows you to enter the name of a backup
table. The program automatically adds _Backup extension to the original
table name when you activate the backup option. You can enter the name
of your choice.
Logging
The logging option saves every step in tool execution. Every tool in
BaseNow has a built-in functionality that saves the description of every
action into a text file during its execution. The logging option gives
you a complete insight into everything the tool did during execution.
This option can be of use in case the execution goes wrong.
Log execution
Sets the value indicating whether to log
all actions to the text file.
Log file location
Sets the location of the log file.
Error Handling
The error handling functionality that is built in every database tool
allows you to set the number of errors after which the program will stop
execution of a task. This is useful when you are sure that some errors
will be generated during execution due to the structure of data in the
table or for some other reason. For example, the program can generate
errors when manipulating null values in columns. In that case, the program
can ignore them and continue processing other data in the table.
Maximum number of errors
Sets the number of errors after which the program will stop execution
of the package.
Log errors
Sets the value indicating whether to log all errors to the text file.
Log file location
Sets the location of the log file.
Package
Tools in BaseNow have a built-in possibility to save all settings into
a binary file as a package. Thus, you can avoid entering the same information
several times. You can use the BaseNow Agent to schedule the execution
of every package in precisely defined time intervals.
For more information about the scheduling options, see Schedule
package for later execution.
Package name
Sets the name of the package.
Package file location
Sets the location of the package file.
Scheduled
Sets the value indicating whether to schedule package execution.
Schedule execution
Sets the properties required to schedule the package.
