Create or edit a view

A select view is the most common type of view. You use it to:

Update records in the datasheet of a select query.

Retrieve data from one or more tables by using criteria.

Display the data in the order you want.

Group records and calculate sums, counts, averages, totals.

To create a select view in BaseNow, you use SQL Query Builder. You can enter the query directly into the SQL pane or add tables in the Diagram pane and select the columns you would like to see in the view.

Creating a view

To create a new view right-click the connection in the Object Browser and choose the New View option.

Editing an existing view
