Copying and pasting data

The picture below shows the program’s main window. The data are copied by selecting the records in a table or a view and choosing the Copy command. The  keyboard shortcut is CTRL+C, but you can also right-click the selected data and choose the Copy option from the menu.

How BaseNow displays databases

Object Browser is the main navigation element of the user interface. It displays all database connections, packages, and the BaseNow Agent. You can manage the Object Browser elements in two ways - using the Action button on the main toolbar and right-clicking on any of its elements.

Database tools

BaseNow has database tools that can help you organize and filter the data. You can move data from one database format into another, create new databases, and organize objects within them. Deduplication tools organize duplicate data, enabling you to delete them or create a new table with all the duplicates. Every tool in the program can save the settings as a package. Thus, you can avoid entering the same information several times.

SQL Query Builder

SQL Query Builder gives you the ability to use the simple graphical interface to build SQL statements and create views in a database. It includes graphical panes that display your SQL statement visually and a text pane that displays the text of your SQL statement. You can  work in either the graphical or text panes. SQL Query Builder synchronizes the views so they are always current.

Remove duplicate records

This tool will find all records which contain duplicated data. Comparison is made according to columns selected from the list. You can select one or more columns that must have unique values.

Change the appearance of tables and views

The Layout panel allows you to change the layout of every table or view in a database. The program automatically saves every change in the appearance and organization of data. Some of the settings that are saved for each table are: order and width of columns, grouping of columns, sorting, fonts, colors, aggregate functions. After you have set the table layout according to your needs, the program automatically stores all the settings and retrieves them the next time you want to view the table. You can easily delete the changes by right-clicking the table or view name and choosing the Reset Current Layout option.
