If another application's installation program overwrites some of the dll files the program is using you may get the following error when you start BaseNow: "Component 'Comdlg32.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"

The solution is to start the installation program and select the Repair option. That should fix all corrupted dll files and missing entries in the Windows registry.

Another approach is to register the file manually. Press Start/Run and enter this command in the dialog box:

      regsvr32 comdlg32.ocx

If everything is in order, you should get the "DllRegisterServer in comdlg32.ocx succeeded" message.
