I am trying to connect to a remote MySql 3.23.49 database using MySql ODBC version 3.51.

I am using the proccedures from the document titled 'Opening MySQL Databases' from the web site. The 'Test Connection' passes but when I click on a table name in the Connections pane. I get the following error.

ODBC driver does not support the requested properties.
Error -2147217887
Source: Microsoft OLE DB provider for ODBC Drivers
SQL State:
NativeError: 0

Hi,

I'm using MySql 3.23.57 with ODBC drivers 3.51 and i get the same error on the main window, only when I click on a table in the tree on the left.
I'm still able to use the sql query builder anyway but it's really slow. I can build my query but as soon as i click on run, it lasts long minutes before i can get the answer, my HDD led highlighted during the process.
I'm also running a client/server architecture:
Client: PII 350 with 320 MO RAM under NT
Server: Sunfire V100
Both are on a LAN, no WAN between them.

I love your query builder, that i could use for sql newbies that need to access my database to fetch the exact report they need but for now it's too slow ...

Thanx for your help

David

PS: here is my connection string, the one given on the web site wouldn't work
DSN="Server_Name";DESC=MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver DSN;DATABASE=ir;SERVER=XXX.YYY.ZZZ.TTT;UID=my_login;PASSWORD=my_pwd;PORT=3306;OPTION=262147;STMT=;

I'm trying to connect to my MySQL DB on my web site.  Do I need to install a MySQL OBDC driver on my winXP workstation first?  The connection dialog doesn't display any MySQL selections.
