How to transfer data using Copy and Paste functionality
Moving data from one table to another or from one database to another
in BaseNow is as simple as working with text in any text editor like Notepad,
Wordpad, Word, etc. All you need to transfer the records from a table
into the destination database or table of your choice is the standard
Copy + Paste procedure using CTRL+C and CTRL+V shortcuts on the keyboard.
Just like in any text-processing program. The procedure consists of three
steps:
1. select the records in the table that you want to copy and press CTRL+C
2. select the table to which you want to transfer the data. The table
can be in the same database or in some other database with different format.
3. press CTRL+V on the keyboard to move the data.
The program will then analyze the source and destination tables and
if the
column names and types do not match, it will allow you to set the
columns to which you want to transfer the data. In case you skip this
step, the program will automatically create the missing columns in the
destination table and copy the data.
The video demonstrates how the data from the ‘Northwind’ SQL Server
database are copied into the Access 2000 test database.
